(размещение) Продажа компанией своих акций определенной группе юридических или физических лиц. Размещение может быть использовано либо как средство выпуска новых акций на свободный рынок (rotation), либо акционерной компанией-для расширения своего капитала (см. также: pre-emption rights (преимущественное право покупки) ; rights issue( выпуск новых акций для размещения среди существующих акционеров)). Размещение обычно является самым дешевым способом повышения стоимости акций на фондовой бирже (stock exchange). Кроме того, оно позволяет руководству компании оказывать влияние на выбор держателей акций. Успех размещения обычно зависит от способности фондового брокера компании разместить вновь выпущенные ценные бумаги. Размещение акций открытых, или публичных, акционерных компаний (public companies) иногда называют публичным размещением (public placing) (сравни: private placing( размещение акций частной компании)). В США для обозначения “размещения акций/капитала” употребляется слово placement. Сравни: introduction( представление ценных бумаг через биржу); issue by tender( выпуск ценных бумаг с помощью торга); offer for sale( предложение для продажи); public issue( публичный выпуск новых акций).
